First Part Last
The book First Part Last was a very good short read. The setting and characters switched continuously to keep me focused. This account of a teenage father who would rather be doing street graffiti was well written. It has an ending I wasn't expecting. The father character has traits of being a loving and caring boyfriend and father. Teens will really enjoy reading this book.

YA (Young Adult) literature reaches ages 14- 21 years of age. Themes and styles of the books written for this age are more tangible for these readers. Many of the main characters are most likely someone young adults can identify with. The young adult books are in categories such as Challenges of Youth or Coming of Age Novels.
Here are the results of my survey of young adults:
1. Last book read: Dear John by Nicholas Sparks, Game of Thrones, and Let Go by Sheila Walsh
2. Last Movie Watched: Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Tron, Black Swan, I Can Do Bad By Myself
3. Novel or Informational: 3 out of 4 chose novel
4. Genre: Historical, Royal Family, Fantasy, Sci Fi, History, Travel, Art and Christian fiction
5.Most likely to read Informational or novel: 2 chose novel, 1 informational, 1 both
6. Best book ever read: Danielle Steele, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, The Other Boleyn Girl, Karen Kingsbury books
7. Best Movie: Grease, Lord of the Rings, Blind Side
8.Favorite Author: Dee Henderson, Nicholas Sparks, Douglas Adams, Philippa Gregory
9.Magazines: All , You, US, Wired, In Style, Marie Claire
10. Computer: E-Mails, FaceBook, Education topics, News,Weight Watchers, Active Runner
I interpret from the survey that young adults are into fiction such as sci fi and fantasy along with books they can identify with themselves in real life.
